Reparative therapy (also known as "conversion", "reorientation" or "differentiation" therapy), refers to any of several techniques that are aimed at changing the sexual orientation of a person with same gender attractions to heterosexuality. Less commonly, they aim to change the gender identity of a transgender person.
The ethics and efficacy of these procedures are disputed, and most medical professionals warn that attempts at changing one's sexual orientation are potentially psychologically harmful.[1] All mainstream health and mental health organizations who have a position on this therapy have condemned it.

... E, apesar de todas as declarações oficiais proferidas depois de '98, alguns sectores da APA continuaram a insistir, de forma «oficiosa», na «terapia reparativa», sem que ninguém saiba exactamente neste momento qual é de facto a posição da associação quanto à dita.
Em Boston, a «bomba» rebentou de novo quando «ex-gays» se juntaram numa associação para passar a mensagem, num proselitismo fanático que deixou todos perplexos...
Quanto a mim, não sei como comentaria os pontos 3 e 4... No mínimo, levantaria muito pó...
Proponho uma terapia no sentido contrário, hetero - homo, a que terão que submeter-se obrigatoriamente os defensores e propagandistas desta ...
